While Flexi Hoses are designed to be flexible and easily connect appliances, this very flexibility also poses significant risks. Inspect each hose and connection, replacing any that show signs of deterioration including damage, corrosion, rust marks, fraying, and kinks. If you’ve moved into a new property and are unsure of the hoses’ age, you should consider replacing them all for peace of mind. For added piece of mind, consider the installation of a hose which is made from something other than stainless steel.
- Consider Storing Cleaning Products Separately: Cleaning products which are stored close to Flexi Hoses should sealed tightly and kept in their original containers where possible. Some chemical cleaning products contain ingredients such as chlorine which can deteriorate and corrode hoses quickly if they accidentally come into contact with the hose itself. If you’re concerned, some telltale signs include discolouration which looks similar to rust, or green or white staining to the hose itself.
