Alex has specialist expertise in risk management across the construction, mining, and property development sectors, informing his deep knowledge of the key business drivers and unique risk landscape in Western Australia.
Over the course of his 15 years in risk management and insurance, Alex has been an advisor to some of Australia’s largest contractors (e.g. Acciona, Bouygues and others) and some of Australia’s largest principals (iCare NSW & TMR QLD). Alex also had the privilege of advising the LTA (Singapore) on their Risk and Insurance programme for the SG$14B Cross Island Line metro project.
Alex’s specialisation in construction and development has materialised in an unparallelled standing and recognition by the insurance market. Alex is acknowledged as a thought leader in construction risk and continues to regularly publish articles on emerging risk trends and legislative changes in the industry.
This recognition exemplifies why he is a trusted advisor to so many clients, with long-standing relationships spanning many years and across varying market cycles. Alex works closely with clients to develop a deep understanding of their unique risk profile, thereafter tailoring advice and risk transfer strategies to meet their needs and the needs of their projects.
Alex started his career as an accountant, which he acknowledges as the stable grounding which is at the centre of his consistent, diligent and prudent approach to client service.
He is truly passionate about risk and works closely with industry bodies to support and raise the standards of the industry.
The services offered by Alex and his Team include critical analysis of insurance policies and advice on adequacy of cover (efficacy review), extending to the negotiation, placement and administration of insurance programmes. The team also advises on the drafting of downstream contracting agreements and the establishment of Principal arranged insurance programmes.
