Lindsay joined the Bellrock Team in June 2025 to lead our service offering for property valuers. He brings a wealth of experience from an insurance, legal and business perspective, including significant exposure to both the London and Australian insurance markets.
Prior to joining Bellrock, Lindsay worked at DLA Piper (and its earlier iterations including Phillips Fox), for 37 years of which he was a partner for 28 years. After that, Lindsay worked as a consultant at Sparke Helmore for 8 and a half years.
Lindsay is a recognised thought leader in insurance law, with specialist expertise in property valuation. He has a passion for providing risk management advice and allied services to his clients.
In 2005 Lindsay was made a Life Fellow of the Australian Property Institute (API) in recognition of work done for the API specifically in relation to risk management. He co-authored the textbook “Valuers Liability – A Loss Prevention Manual” (two editions). He was also the principal author of the (API) Risk Management Module (RMM) first delivered nationally to all API members in 2003. The RMM continues today and Lindsay still delivers RMM presentations to API members. The RMM is a compulsory part of the API’s CPD programme.
Lindsay has litigated and advised upon insurance claims and related matters, all over Australia in defence of valuers, real estate agents, construction, and engineering professionals. Over a period of 46 years in legal practice Lindsay’s insurance law experience has exposed him to many complex insurance and risk issues.
At Bellrock, Lindsay advises clients on risk exposures and limitation of liability, with specific interest in providing effective risk management services to property valuers. Lindsay has also continued to provide advice to the API and its members, having very recently been a member of the API’s Professional Standards sub-committee in preparing the API’s Code of Ethics and Rules of Professional Conduct.
